Interesting database ideas you might want to pay attention to

Raft-algorithm, sharding, Log-Structured Merge trees… We’ve come a long way the past 15 years in building more scalable, more write performant, more robust database technology. In this talk I want to highlight algorithms and ideas I’ve seen used, but that aren’t yet widely known and certainly not widely available.

In this talk, we will:
Accord transactions in Cassandra: In which we continue the pursuit for strictly serializable distributed transactions.
Consider what if it was possible to index all your data, every column: Any arbitrary query would be reasonably fast to execute. No need to start by planning your data access pattern and schema.
Talk about what will databases look like in a Quantum Computer using Grover’s algorithm.
